Our partnership with our neighbors in Guatemala is one of the many ways our parish shares our love for Christ. For example, we have supported a clinic in Catarina, run by two Maryknoll sisters who are also medical doctors, Sr. Mary Lou and Sr. Jane. Besides helping with training of health promoters for local communities, we also help to purchase wheelchairs, fund dialysis, and provide water filters and low-smoke stoves for cooking.
Resurrection has also supported local catechists in their work. Resurrection is beginning a partnership with Padre Severiano, pastor of the parish of San Antonio Sacatepéquez, to help with a diocesan plan for evangelization. Padre Severiano plans a program beginning with 4 year olds and continuing through a youth ministry group for adolescents.
If you’re interested in participating in a future delegation to San Marcos, or if you have any questions about the partnership, contact Pat Sormani or Joan McConnell through the parish office.
